[Admittedly, Tsuna is kind of terrified to send this. He doesn't know who this Zuko guy is, just that he and Gokudera fought and Gokudera was hurt. But Tsuna is not exactly the guy who calls people out. That's Gokudera's job, or Ryohei's. He's usually the guy being protected. But he's not about to stand by over this. And he needs answers. Especially if they're in danger.
He'll just ignore the part of his brain that sounds like Reborn, congratulating him on being a good boss. He's just trying to protect his friends.]
[ Zuko's terrified to receive this text. He knows Tsuna's name. He calls him the Tenth out of respect — because Gokudera does. And Gokudera has ever only told him things about Tsuna that are admirable and respectable. That's Zuko's whole image of Tsuna. He'd have wanted to make a good impression on him anyway, but now that shit has literally blown up in his face... He has no idea what to say or how to handle this. He definitely needs to control his temper talking to the Tenth, even if he can't manage to talking to Gokudera. Best to just be direct and let the boss take the wheel, cuz Zuko has already fucked this up enough and he knows it. ]
i've never been better friends with anyone else but thanks forgiven.
you went overboard but it makes sense to me why you reacted the way you did and im still sorry i used firebending against you that was stupid
[ Just like that? Forgiven? And an apology in return? Wow.
Zuko's emotional receiving this text, stirring up a whirlpool of conflicting feelings. He thinks back to his uncle forgiving him the day before he arrived in Prismatica. He'd said some beautiful things. He did not even need to hear Zuko's full apology spiel he'd planned out. He just forgave him — had already forgiven him before he even apologized. Just like that.
"I was never angry at you. I was sad, because I was afraid you'd lost your way. But you found it again. And you did it by yourself! And I'm so happy you've found your way here..." His uncle's exact words will forever be etched in his memory. This was nowhere near the gravity of that apology. But it still held a lot of weight, evident in how heavyhearted the situation had made Zuko. He was never angry with Gokudera, truly; he was sad, which he turns into anger — but it was always just grief. Zuko's turned all of this over in his head so much since it'd happened. Kept him up at night. Kept him fighting with his sister. Kept him fighting with himself. This was a terrifying experience all around, this entire conflict. But strangely sound. Minus Azula's attack. Zuko still hadn't forgiven her for that.
But Gokudera? It was easy for Zuko to forgive him. ]
You are the bravest person I've met. As I approach my third date with Hikaru, the fated date, I require your assistance in this journey.. I cannot do this alone. I have tried, and failed. I believe you may also benefit from this experience in your own journey.
Please come alone this evening around 7 to my humble abode. Bring Lunchables if you are going to the store please.
Save me, Zuko-bun My Homie. You're my only hope.
Sincerely, ★☆★Taichi Nanao★☆★
[ Taichi has gotten so awkward that he tried to make this sound formal in order to cover up how awkward he felt, and it just got weird. Sorry Zuko. ]
[ What. the Fuck. He had to reread this at least twice before he could stop sputtering and gaping at his phone. He... can't tell if this is supposed to be funny or not, which is a problem he often struggles with, but right now he's really thrown for a loop. Is he... asking for help with a quest? Could he be in danger? No way, he's joking, he must be — he genuinely can't tell very well, especially over text on these devices... which adds a whole other shade of "alarming" in itself.
An astronomically better sport than he was even just a couple months ago, Zuko... rolls with it? What the fuck else can he do? ]
dear taichi nanao,
this text was bewildering but ok i will be there at 7 are you both okay.....?
sincerely, fire prince zuko
[ Zuko is no less fucking awkward and isn't even sure himself if his own message is a joke or not?! As far as Taichi knows, to boot, "fire prince" is just his corny dweeby username, maybe some odd nickname he's given himself, and so has no clue Zuko's really matching him somewhat earnestly in this formality, too completely baffled out of any other reaction than a sincere one. He hopes Taichi is joking; he hopes he's joking! What is going to happen at 7?! Why does he need to be brave?! These are the normal guys! What could possibly be happening with them?! And what about a fated date?! He'd ask if they're safe but it implies they are, yet— still in crisis somehow, clearly. But not danger? He's ready to defend his friends but this doesn't... seem like that kind of scenario somehow. Something doesn't quite add up. Well, a lot doesn't. Not commenting on Lord of the Hot Squat. He'd prefer Sifu Hotman over that... ]
[ Zuko'd promised the old man help with his phone. Now, Zuko is not the ideal IT guy — he is not meant for tech support even in his own universe. But he's determined to do his best to help his uncle acclimate as easily as he can. Zuko's no expert on social media etiquette or... etiquette in general... but he can take blurry, poorly framed photos and look up videos and google things and text his friends? So that's about all he needs to get by, right? He can impart (probably poorly explained) wisdom, paying some forward to his uncle at long last, perhaps.
He arrives exactly at the time he said he would to where Iroh's staying, his loud knock at the door prompt and punctual as always. He feels his best in the mornings like this. And starting a new day, now that Iroh is in the city, feels rather rejuvenating today, air a little crisper, sun a bit brighter, life in Avalon somehow fresher. He's not tired, but arrives with a tin of tea leaves for them, a citrus-ginger-ginseng blend picked from his own modest collection he's built in Iroh's absence. He knows his uncle well enough that some nice, energizing tea and honey will probably sweeten the pot with this technological challenge. ]
Re: action; closed to Iroh; backdated to shortly after Iroh's arrival
Iroh's roomate had been gone for the day already by he time Zuko arrived. And Iroh had woken up even earlier, though he had saved his work out until he had the room to himself.
Hearing the knock he called something that was muffled by the door, and quickly erased evidence of what he had been doing. Just in case. It might be a new habit, but it was one that had served him well.
He opened the door a moment later and his smile warmed when he saw who waited there. "Good morning, Prince Zuko." He stepped back to let his nephew in. "Please, come in."
[ Oh, man, that was a quick, harried text; the buzz in his pocket had even startled him enough to jump a little in his seat, already sitting on pins and needles beside Taichi watching... things he'd never seen... Oh, boy. ]
[After hearing about some of the...mess that was the trials, Mukuro couldn't help but be a little worried about her friends and how they were coping with it all. Hopefully Zuko wouldn't mind getting a Blade-anon in his inbox.]
30 MAY XX, 2251
Received intelligence suggesting trials were 'a shit show'. I retreated town early in the week and avoided the worst- did you get affected?
[Gokudera looks excited and nervous. This is probably the same kind of energy Zuko came at him with when Aang showed up.]
Zuko, a friend of mine name Linneus showed up from Amoi! That first world I was on.
I can't believe I forgot how into tea he is... but when he mentioned it, I couldn't help thinking how it'd be if you two met. [Why is he so awkward? Probably because Linneus knows so much about him.]
Woah, really?! And he remembers?! That's great, Gokudera! I'd love to meet him.
[ More friends for Gokudera? And friends from one of these horrible places, someone who actually gets it?! Zuko's happy. That's surely something that's cheered his friend up. Zuko can't tell he's nervous; he just sees the plus side of this right away. Connection. ]
[ Um. He cried? He's not saying that outright. But after almost a year of being spirited away and suddenly tied to this strange magical device he's never seen anything like back home before, the dance with the phones immediately strikes a chord, but as it goes on... he becomes bitter about dance being stolen from his people. He goes through his own cycle of personal feelings, the romantic plights he's had since being spirited away, but ultimately just lands on what his uncle said about passion being a threat. People expressing themselves organically, unstilted, focused on the personal and their experience and nothing to do with patriotism or glory or politics. It's not common in art where he's from. But as someone with, uh, more feelings than most, and more intense feelings than most, who's funneled them into obsessive martial arts training, seeing a physical expression of grief like that was stirring to the prince more than he can say. He'd been lied to about so much in the Fire Nation... ]
amazing show me more?
[ It's a lackluster response to how he's truly processing this... See why "a silent language" appeals to him? Aurora phrased that just the right way to capture this boy's interest. ]
NO!!!! IM NOT!!!! what do i do i dont want to expose her lies but also im mad but also she said she’ll use that money to buy us a nice dinner BUT NOW AURORA IS COMING OVER WITH FOOD AND I NEED TO ACT SICK and she’s gonna meet Azula for the first time………!! what is even going on today i just saw her post at random >:| a surprise to me too..
[And that's all he says. That's all that really needs to be said because Zuko knows better than anybody just what this means. Especially after everything that happened in the bubble.]
i'm going through these people who asked me for a mutual follow and this guy says he's all about healthy living blah blah blah and he's super into weight training? [Hikaru shows a picture of the guy...who clearly does no weight training.]
so do you think this guy does a lot of training? like why lie about how much you can press?? just keep it to the healthy eating and cardio you obviously do even though he obviously edits his pictures to make himself look way different. it's so obvious
[Hikaru has no twin to share his mean judgy thoughts to.]
[ Considering the hour, Zuko's... surprisingly fast to reply. Zuko could be woken by a pin dropping, let alone a text from Hikaru — who's kind of by default a "friend in need" these days since Kaoru's disappearance, even when his needs are just... this... ]
[Bright and early, Hanabi's at the training grounds, enjoying having them to herself for the moment. She's going through a full kata in smooth, fluid motions. The Gentle Fist style features a lot of palm strikes and circular motions in particular, but there are also flips, kicks, and the occasional punch. Despite her young age, it's apparent she's spent years training.
For the moment, she's not practicing with her magic, instead simply focusing on her forms. However, blood magic carries an interesting (and mildly gross) side effect of being aware of other presences simply by the amount of blood nearby. Before she even hears his footsteps approaching the grounds, she's aware of Zuko's arrival. She finishes her kata, then turns to greet him with a polite nod.
Though her pale eyes might make suggest blindness, she makes eye contact without difficulty, revealing that she can see just fine.]
Hey Zuko it's been a while. Couple of things I have to keep you up to speed on:
1. Aang thinks that me and the Tenth are criminals. I don't think he trusts us, so it turns out my feelings about being unwelcome around your friends is valid.
2. The Tenth's birthday is tomorrow.
3. I've scheduled an operation to get my collar removed. I don't think that having many people involved in the procedure is necessary, but if you wouldn't mind... keeping an eye out or supporting the Tenth in case things go from bad to worse, I'd appreciate it.
It'll be fine, though. I'm not going to die and I don't want to. But... it's dangerous, and I'd like if... I had some support. If not for me, than the Tenth, ok?
