rediscovering: (can you believe)

"Uncle, there's no reason to use firebending, or magic, or anything — just your fingers! And don't drop it!" Zuko was doing well, but he can't hide a bit of exasperation at that request.

"But if you do drop it!" the quieter coworker pipes up again, more perky now, teasingly. "The cases are cast with protective magic. Here, no need—"

His cheerful coworker is already at the computer, ringing things up and preparing the sale, and the more teasing fellow goes ahead and starts unboxing a couple ePhones from below the counter. He pulls a case out from the drawer, too, a random slim but sturdy looking thing, and slips it on one of the phones. He hands that one to Iroh, and the other uncased one to Zuko, and then whips out his own Pineapple ePhone as an example to follow off of, showing indeed he follows his own advice. Zuko looks surprised to see that, having been so certain these guys were just trying to pitch them a sale. The man leans over the counter to draw closer to them so they can both see, and Zuko holds his uncased phone in his hands uncertainly.

"Okay, um— how do we save his money? From the old phone. Is it all gone?"

The salesmen both look at each other in confusion at the mention of this again. But the one demonstrating suddenly has a lightbulb moment.

"Oh! The gold isn't in the phone itself — it's not physical money, it's digital currency. It's still attached to your account. Your money hasn't disappeared, sir," he explains, looking to Iroh with a smirk, smitten with himself for having figured it out.

"Ah! Uncle, you still have your money!" Zuko's actually awash with relief, his face lighting up... well, relatively, for Zuko standards.
