[ For anything even remotely in the general category of a smile to cross his face right now would be a miracle, and indeed Gokudera’s short, wry message was that miraculous effect. His voice sounds a little calmer, thicker, still on edge, but... the hitman clearly hit his mark in lightening shit up even for a second. If he wants, after shutting off his communicator for a while to think, Zuko can spend the next several hours scowling into space, but at least for this moment, he can almost smile about how, for the first time in far too long, he has a trustworthy confidant. Of course it’d take a whole other alternate universe to find this confidant from another planet, but he was increasingly relieved he had. That he actually likes the other’s subtle sense of humor is just an even rarer cosmic, kismet bonus. ]
