JULY

OVERALL started his time here with a trash fire and kept up a general theme. eventually a cosmic, feverish, existential panic attack over it all left him bedridden a couple weeks (cared for by Tamaki) as his psyche processed what the fuck was going on. destiny has gone, uh, wildly off-course.

AUGUST

• [ REVIVAL POST ]: post-angst coma. sick + bedridden in a panic attack for weeks, came to clarity about his situation
• HARU: A confusing interaction with a bunny woman... But he also scored a free drink? Cool?
• MARIA: Awkward forced physical contact, and unusually terse kindnesses...
• SUOH TAMAKI: Wakes up smiling and happy for a new day. Who are you and where's Zuko?!
• YVELON NOIRTEREL: Taken under wing and out to lunch, summary on how bending works/the structure of his world
• WEISS SCHNEE: Awkward hugging encounter. Disconcerted over the overall situation of being trapped here, too.
• OTONASHI YUZURU: Survival Support group and storytime by the fireside...
• HITACHIIN HIKARU: Trapped in a bubble. Sadtimes radio hour, broadcasting all their most painful memories
• HITACHIIN KAORU: Hugging, Tamaki's an idiot, ¿ostrich-horses? etc, dream analysis, weird siblings stuff... fast friends
• TITUS ALEXIUS: Explanation of Prismatica and how the time and space rift works. Disconcerting but comforting
• ASAMI SATO: Timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly stuff, but his future is secured — and his present. Everything's okay.
• GOKUDERA HAYATO I: Kismet BFF, met in a magnetic hug, instant bond. Hung out for hours, sharing snacks and stories...
• GOKUDERA HAYATO II: ...stories that lead Zuko to conclude that, in his own world, Gokudera may actually be the Avatar. Because of course the first friend Zuko finds on an alien planet might be the Avatar. Destiny isn't funny, it's sarcastic.

OVERALL "Y'know that feeling where you don't want to live anymore, but you don't want to die, either? You don't even necessarily want to restart. You just want to... have a different life on the side. Just to know what it's like. Not like an ideal dream life, either. Just a different one. Like when you watch strangers in public sometimes and just... wonder. Maybe being stuck here in this place now is that impossible chance." Living in a perpetual daydream can promise Zuko anything.

SEPTEMBER

• SYPHA BELNADES: Reunited at last! Enjoying a night at the theatre~
• MARIA: Awkward reunion.
• HOST CLUB: When touch becomes painful, Hikaru and Kaoru cannot bear to be apart, and create a household solution.
• GOKUDERA HAYATO: Gokudera's birthday! Cuddles on the couch, shooting the shit, bonding.
• GOKUDERA HAYATO II: Story of the Scar...! As Zuko resolves to shed his past, Gokudera becomes the truth keeper.
• GOKUDERA AND YAMAMOTO: ...then Zuko finally meets the Rain Guardian over a special sushi dinner!
• UNCLE IROH: U N C L E . . . Reunited, Zuko spills his guts in a quiet teashop, although not so quietly.

OVERALL September brought so many friends all at once. Zuko's social life is suddenly poppin'! Cemented about a dozen friendships — which is like emotional whiplash for a boy who's scarcely had friends in his life before coming here; but he is undeniably less alone now, so it was also undeniably a good month. The best he's had in years, technically. What makes it better is that his uncle Iroh has showed up now; what makes it worse is that his sister Azula showed up, too. But... even their relationship here is better than it's been in years/ever? A strange peace fell over September, despite whatever chaos brought Zuko closer to so many people. Oh, also he turned into a baby bear for three days and he really hated that.

OCTOBER

• SURVIVAL SUPPORT GROUP: open to all
• [ CLOSED LOGS POST ]: Movie night with the boys, slumber party with Gokudera, firebending training with Uncle Iroh, and more...
• DR. DANNY DICKENS: See a shrink, kid. Zuko seeks to unblock his chi by any means necessary.

• GOKUDERA AND YAMAMOTO: The guys get comfy to watch "the Shimmer," a horror movie of Zuko's choosing...
• AZULA: Movie night and brother and sister quality time... Psychological horror brings families together.
• YAMAMOTO TAKESHI: Baseball! Sort of. Two-person baseball. ...Well, they're having fun.
• AKIHIKO KAJI: Anonymous online romantic advice ends up not-so-anonymous, on a bizarre, helpless whim.

OVERALL October was a whirlwind of emotions, and his social life has become as gratifying as it is confusing. He's strengthened his hobbies, making model warships, meditating and training with his uncle, running and playing sports with his friend Yamamoto. He's also rather excitedly discovered a new love for movies, even arranged movie nights with his friends... and his sister, whom he's grown much closer with quite quickly, unexpectedly. Likewise, he's grown much closer with his best friend Gokudera, and Zuko's fond feelings surrounding the boy have begun to trouble him, prompting him to seek advice from friends and strangers alike. He even sought psychiatric therapy, hoping it'd help him unblock his chi. But with his uncle's help, he's finally regained his firebending, albeit his flame doesn't burn as bright as it usually does... But the torch he carries is burning stronger than ever.

NOVEMBER

• HITACHIIN HIKARU: More than a makeover... Hikaru cuts Zuko's hair short and points him in the right direction.

NETWORK

• SUOH TAMAKI: Bad puns and bad teas... Bears and Arizona teas will haunt Zuko forever.
• AZULA: Discussing Sanguis, urges, and what lights their flames...
• OKUMURA RIN: Wedding gifts? Mazel tov, boss!
• OKUMURA RIN: On Prismagram talking about their siblings~
• CAESAR ZEPPELI: On Prismagram discovering horrifying alien food...
• AZULA: Prismagram pic of the fire prince and fire princess out in the cold...
• AZULA: ...although Prismagram is still too technologically advanced for both of them.
• HENRY COOLDOWN: Would you forget everything here when you go home if you could? Yes. Unless Azula remembered, too.

OVERALL November left Zuko feeling... surprisingly normal and well-adjusted. His major troubles are two problematic crushes. He gets a full image revamp with Hikaru that sets the stage for the long run, even after Prismatica. He's coming to embrace what it's like to just be an average teenager working a job and wondering if the people he fancies feel the same about him. What a life.

DECEMBER

• AZULA: Lamenting the moons together, brother and sister helping each other for once? Wow.

OVERALL A lot of the stress he's felt at Prismatica has finally melted away, for better or worse. He's still not a normal teenager — far from it. But he has certainly gained experiences he never thought he'd ever have, things he'd never be able to do at home, or even want to do... but confused or not, he's eager for more experiences like these, undeterred from this unfamiliar walk in life he's chosen. He's become closer to many people in ways he'd never expect, and he's surprisingly thankful for it.

Endgame. Just before the events leading to escape from Prismatica, Zuko was spirited away once more. His final night, he microwaved something metal in his apartment with the hosts. As it grew out of his control without him noticing, the firebender ran to grab a wet blanket, while his roommates "helped" by making things far worse and throwing flour on the fire to tame it. As the flames began to engulf the kitchen, the four boys decided it was a lost cause. They all dashed to their bedrooms, packed up all the most important things they owned, and decided to just... leave. They ran through an increasingly smoke-filled flat with suitcases in tow, Zuko carefully carrying his favorite model warship customized to look like his Fire Navy cruiser, Hikaru chasing after stray papers flying from their portfolio as Kaoru pulled him away from the precious papers floating to their doom, Tamaki trying to shlep cases of Arizona Tea from the fridge beneath billows of smoke... Chaos.

As the boys abandoned the scene of the crime, Kaoru called 911 to report, "We just passed by a building on fire." Not their problem now. The four rich kids stay in a cheap motel for the first time in their lives, all appalled. Never again; clearly only in an emergency! Zuko didn't burn the world down, but as it turns out... he may as well have.

Because, emergencies abound, after unrestful sleep in the cheap motel bed, Zuko then wakes up... in Avalon.
